The Decatur County Development Corporation (DCDC) is a non-profit, public/private partnership committed to developing the local economy of Decatur County, Iowa, through the retention of employers, promotion of tourism and recreation, and housing development.
DCDC is the economic development entity that serves Decatur County, Iowa. Our role is to inspire economic growth among the businesses and community members that thrive here. We aim to encourage economic development to support 5 specific purposes.
Provision of resources and consultation
services for businesses and entrepreneurs DCDC is committed to developing a business friendly climate in Decatur County. We support the efforts of the private sector to sustain and expand an existing business, or start a new one.
Promotion of county-wide job creation
DCDC serves as a connection between K-12 schools, community colleges, and other training providers that help to create a skilled workforce that is needed to advance local employers. DCDC nurtures relationships between private and public sectors for mutual benefit.
Enhancement of economic assets throughout the county
DCDC supports activities to increase the tax base throughout the county, and create increased commerce.
Promotion of a quality housing infrastructure
DCDC supports the reinvestment into older neighborhoods and investment into new housing opportunities to increase the livability standards of residents in Decatur County.
Advancement of tourism and recreation into local businesses and organizations
DCDC assists in existing activities to promote recreation and tourism activities in Decatur County.
